Early Arrivals/Pre-Orientation Programs Move-In #1

The week begins with the first day of move-in for early arrivals and students in Pre-orientation Programs, held at the LJVM Coliseum from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Saturday, August 16

Early Arrivals/Pre-Orientation Programs Move-In #2

Move-in continues for early arrivals and Pre-orientation students at the LJVM Coliseum. In the afternoon, a Welcome Reception is held exclusively for the parents and families of students who participated in the Pre-Orientation programs.

August 17

The evening features “RecGo,” an event for Pre-orientation students on Manchester Plaza.


Monday,
August 18

New students are invited to participate in a game of “Humans vs. Zombies” at the ZSR Library in the evening.


Tuesday,
August 19

This day is designated for International Student Move-in, which concludes at 4 p.m. Evening entertainment includes a Women’s Field Hockey game against UNC, karaoke for all Pre-orientation Programs, and a talent show for students in the Summit Pre-orientation Program.


Wednesday, August 20

It’s Move-In Day!

All new and transfer students check in for University Housing at the LJVM Coliseum. The day is filled with various activities, including departmental open houses and information sessions. The evening holds two mandatory events for students: “Living at Wake” and the “New Deacs on the Block Party” on Hearn Plaza.


Thursday, August 21

The day features mandatory academic orientations and small group meetings with advisors for new and transfer students. The day also includes a Campus Services and Information Fair, a President’s Reception for parents and families, and both a women’s and men’s soccer game. The day concludes with “How to College: Becoming a Demon Deacon”, a mandatory session for students.

August 22

The morning is dedicated to individual advising sessions, while the afternoon features the formal New Student Convocation in Wait Chapel, both of which are mandatory for all new students. Students can also attend various open houses and informational sessions on topics like study abroad and career planning.


Saturday, August 23

The day is structured around “Student Rotations,” where new students will meet with their designated student advisors.


Sunday, August 24

New Deac Week concludes with a variety of events, including the men’s soccer game against UCF, Religious Life open houses, and social gatherings like “Sundaes on Sunday” and a trivia night at Shorty’s.
