Wake Forest University parents and families attend the President's Reception.

We hope you’ll be able to join us.

Parents and families are invited to join us this summer as we welcome the Class of 2030—whether by attending a New Student Reception or participating in Family Orientation, which is scheduled for Tuesday, August 18 and Wednesday, August 19. This is an in-person experience that we hope you will attend if your schedule allows.

Newly admitted students attend a New Student Reception.

New Student Receptions

June – August

This summer, we’ll host a Virtual Information Session on June 23 as well as a series of in-person receptions for members of the Class of 2030, transfer students, and their families in cities across the country. These gatherings offer a great chance for incoming Demon Deacons to connect face-to-face before arriving on campus in August.

We hope you’ll be able to attend a reception in your area—or wherever you may be spending your summer!

Please note that even if your student cannot attend, parents and families are welcome to attend on their own.

Wake Forest University parents and families meet one another and mingle with University leaders at the Pre-Orientation reception.

Pre-Orientation Move-In Reception

August 14
  • 4 p.m.
  • Upper Sutton Center Gym, Wellbeing Center (21A on this map)

For families who are moving students in for Pre-Orientation and cannot stay for Family Orientation that takes place August 18-19, this informal reception will allow you to meet administrators, ask questions, and meet other new families.

Dress is casual.

Family Orientation

August 18-19

There will be a variety of in-person informational sessions to give families the chance to hear from senior leaders, faculty, key student support areas, and more. This is also a great chance to meet other Wake parents and families and form connections.

Dress is casual.

Information about how to access the 2026 Family Orientation schedule will be available in late June/early July.

All families should plan to depart Wednesday evening (Aug. 19) or Thursday morning (Aug. 20). Students will be involved in their own New Deac Week activities on Aug. 20-23 and it will be beneficial for them to spend those days getting to know their new classmates and the campus.

Most events are family-only or student-only to encourage independence.
