WakeWell

About WakeWell
WakeWell is designed to introduce incoming students to Wake Forest’s comprehensive approach to wellbeing. Students can join WakeWell to gain a better understanding of themselves through exploring the 8 dimensions of wellbeing, at a time in which they are embarking on their transition into college and adulthood. Participants will be grouped with an upperclass Peer Leader and a small group of other first years, allowing them to build strong connections with one another and identify personalized wellbeing plans for a successful transition into college.

WakeWell includes a deep-dive orientation to the 8 dimensions of wellbeing, making connections between how emotional wellbeing and mental health are intricately linked with physical, environmental, social, occupational, spiritual, financial and intellectual wellbeing.
Examples of some of our activities include:
- Mindfulness practices and art activities at the Reynolda House Museum and hands-on crafting at the WakerSpace encourage using art as a means for reflection on values and identity that shape relationships and life goals.
- Learning more about sustainability and how the our environments impact our wellbeing, as well as engaging in grounding practices such as weeding and planting at the Campus Garden.
- Hearing from our upperclassmen Peer Leaders about their experiences at WFU and sharing information and wisdom on navigating Freshman year during our What I Wish I Knew Panel.
- Ending the program with a celebratory trip to Downtown Winston Salem to explore the community around Wake Forest and enjoy socializing with new friends and great food.
WakeWell accepts students on a rolling basis, with spots filled first-come, first-served.
