S.P.A.R.C. students participate in Habitat for Humanity

About S.P.A.R.C.

SPARC introduces students to the University motto, Pro Humanitate, by providing direct service hours to local nonprofit organizations. Participants will volunteer in groups with other first-year students with the leadership of an upper-class mentor. The mentors will lead you in service and reflection activities and serve as a guide for your first few days on campus.

This program will also incorporate campus-wide traditions while learning about the issues impacting Winston-Salem and building friendships with fellow Demon Deacons in SPARC’s sister program – Deacon Camp.

The typical program schedule runs 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with breaks throughout the day.

SPARC is designed and facilitated by student leaders and staff from the Office of Civic & Community Engagement in partnership with local nonprofits.

SPARC accepts students on a rolling basis, with spots filled first-come, first-served.
